Here at Mistymoor we take a lot of pride in our breeding programme, we spend time researching pedigrees taking extra care when selecting our breeding stock. All of our dogs are tested clear of any hereditary disorders by means of hip/elbow x-rays and eye certificates. We research which suitable stud dogs will improve our bitches selecting those who will complement them both physically, and genetically after all there is no perfect dog but we want to come extremely close!
Our litters are generally all pre-sold and waiting lists apply, only the best of homes are chosen and as a prospective buyer you will be asked to provide us with details of your situation. As a rule, we do not mate our bitches unless we are planning to keep something for ourselves, all puppies who are destined to be loving pets are registered on the Limited Register and we will only sell a puppy to be used for breeding purposes if we are convinced that the prospective buyer is genuine and is prepared to compete in some discipline, be it showing, obedience, agility or field trialling in order to prove that it is a worthy stud dog or brood bitch. This can be a costly exercise, both in time and money, and sometimes a puppy does not live up to expectations but by competing in one or more of the above disciplines it gives you a much greater understanding of the breed.
We actively encourage all of prospective buyers to complete at least two rounds of domestic obedience classes to ensure that you have a well-socialised, well mannered companion. Our litters are raised in our home, are well socialised and are exposed to a variety of noises from an early age.We encourage you to come and visit the litter as often as you want from 10days old to enable us to get to know you better thus ensuring that we match the right puppy with the right owner.
We offer full twenty-four hour support to all of our puppy buyers, a comprehensive puppy booklet is given to you detailing diet and some other tips for the first night at home etc, where possible we can help you trim your golden, or even just enjoy a visit from you and your Mistymoor baby.
